Grade 1
In Grade 1, we will utilize The Good and The Beautiful Language Arts Level 1, Math Level 1 along with the core subjects of language arts, social studies, math, and science. There will also be Bible lessons woven throughout.

Grade 2
In Grade 2, where our curriculum brings together Language Arts, Geography, Math, Science, and the Bible into a diverse and engaging educational experience. Our primary focus is on nurturing fluent readers and writers, fostering the essential skills crucial for academic success. In our mathematical exploration, we will journey through multiplication, advancing to higher place values, and mastering the intricacies of multiple-digit addition and subtraction.
The Good and The Beautiful takes center stage for Language Arts, Geography, and spelling, while learning Math concepts with the help our guide. Science comes to life with hands on experiments, enriching our understanding of the world around us. The integration of the Bible into English Language Arts, History, and occasional Science lessons adds a spiritual dimension to our educational approach.

Grade 3
We will study English, math, science and history with a concentration on US history and government. On core days, we will utilize games, labs, songs, and collaborative projects while using our texts as foundational learning opportunities.
Math at this level is a strong comprehensive approach, with review built into each lesson throughout the year. Core Days will include Biblical Integration across subject areas.
Math will encompass measurement (metric and US customary), geometric shapes, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division calculations, fractions, telling time, Roman numerals, counting money, word problems, multi-step calculations and word problems to highlight main skills.
ELA will target writing sentences, paragraphs, and poems, reading strategies, grammar, spelling, and cursive handwriting. Students will study a minimum of four novels.
Science will address physical, natural, and biological topics. Students this age love to study animals, plants, moon, planets, oceans, sound, weather, rocks, motion, food chains and webs.
History will be comprised of US history, government, and American Revolution. Technology, hands-on activities, songs, and games.

Grade 4
We will focus on English, math, science and history with a concentration on world geography and culture while also having fun!
Titles are provided for multiple resources across the curriculum and form a backbone for discussion and foundational learning.
Weekly Bible verse memory will be provided. Core Days will include Biblical Integration across subject areas.
Math topics include equations, rounding, graphing, metric system, map reading, decimal equivalents, money counting and making change, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, word problems and critical thinking
ELA will target writing in cursive, reading a minimum of 4 novels, comprehension, reading strategies, writing sentences and paragraphs, poetry, spelling, grammar,
Science topics: living things, insects, plants, forces and machines, electricity & magnetism, digestive & skeletal system
History will correlate with ELA as students learn to research a country, take notes, and compose sentences, paragraphs, then compose a project about the country’s location, culture, government, economy, landforms, and interesting places. We will study each of the continents through hands-on activities, songs, and maps. Biblical integration is also part of the history curriculum.

Grade 5
Language Arts: The reading curriculum includes novels that grab the attention of students and encourages them to 'think beyond the text' to apply the lessons learned to their own life. Students will learn to answer text-dependent questions that build in complexity each week, as more skills are introduced. The language curriculum will keep grammar and word study standards fresh throughout the year. In addition, novel reading assignments will correspond with lessons from the history/geography curriculum, making the reading meaningful and reinforcing an understanding from both studies.
Math: Concepts will be introduced and reviewed during weekly class time. Homework and quizzes will ensure concepts are understood and mastered, as well as providing on-going reinforcement for the entire year. Concepts will include a review of place value (digit/word form) and long multiplication and division; and an introduction/study of fractions, decimals, beginning geometry and algebra.
Science: Unit studies will include an Introduction to the Scientific Method; Learning the Building Blocks to the Structure of Life; Human Body Systems; and Interactions between Humans and Earth. Weekly class meetings will introduce new concepts and some weeks will include hands-on labs and activities to engage students in active learning. Homework will include activities to ensure comprehension.
History/Geography: We will study US Geography (learning all the states, capitals, locations, and fun facts) and US History through major events and the Presidents with History Bites. Hands-On activities and oral reports will give students the opportunity to learn how to prepare and deliver speeches, as well as overcome a fear of doing so - a valuable life lesson!
Grammar: Rather than repetitive lessons that cover the same concepts over and over each year, Analytical Grammar helps students build their knowledge sequentially at their own pace, with concise, concrete lessons and plenty of practice.

Grade 6
Language Arts: Grammar, writing and novel studies to spark interest and growth. Writing program utilizes Institute for Excellence in Writing curriculum, which teaches students to enhance their writing with simple techniques. Grammar and vocabulary will be reinforced and help strengthen students’ writing. Novels will cover a variety of genres, challenging students to leave their comfort zone and dig deeper into the story.
Math: Prepare for Pre-Algebra! Grade-level studies which include Operations with Whole Numbers and Decimals (A 5th Grade Review Unit); Fraction Operations and Integer Concepts; Ratios, Rates, Percent and Proportions; Expressions; Equations and Inequalities; Geometry; and Data Displays. Concepts will be introduced and reviewed during weekly class time. Homework and quizzes will ensure concepts are understood and mastered.
History/Geography: We will study Major Wars in coordination with World Geography, traveling across the globe and learning about all of the wonderful landscapes. Hands-on activities and oral reports will give students the opportunity to learn how to prepare and deliver speeches, as well as overcome the fear of doing so!
Science: Unit study will include a review of the Scientific Method; Atoms/Elements/Compounds; States and Properties of Matter; Types of Energy; Weather; Rock and Water Cycles and so much more! Weekly class time will introduce new concepts and some weeks include hands-on experiments to bring each lesson ‘alive’; homework will include reading, vocabulary, and quizzes to reinforce lessons.
Cursive Handwriting: Students who have not learned cursive writing will be given an introductory curriculum. Those who have learned will be given a reinforcement curriculum.

Grade 7 & 8
Language Arts
Learning Language Arts Through Literature covers grammar, diagramming, vocabulary, reading skills, spelling skills, penmanship, short story, poetry, and research writing units plus higher order thinking skills.
Pre-algebra and algebra are courses that explores integers, real numbers, linear equations, number theory, decimals, ratios, proportions, percent, inequalities, relations and functions, polynomials, square roots, statistics, and probability. Students will be assigned homework. In class, students will have the opportunity to review the week’s assignments, ask questions, seek extra help, work in small groups, and play math games.
History: We will cover American history and government. How do elections work? What does the President do all day? Who decides where stop signs go? What is Labor Day?
This course is designed for students in grades 6 through 8. The curriculum guides your family on an engaging tour of American government. Your student will learn about elected leaders and everyday citizens who have important roles to fill in making our country work. Students will record weekly current events and participate in at least one community service project of their choice.
Science: This course explores topics such as the scientific method, designing experiments, simple machines, geology, archaeology, biology, anatomy, and other disciplines, providing a wide range of scientific exposure. Hands-on experiments are included throughout, giving students practical experience as they discover the principles behind the science! Looking at the world from a creationist position, topics are all presented with an eye towards God's role in everyday life. We will conduct experiments in class.
